Fall Home Tour

Hello there! It’s November and although many of you are getting ready for Christmas, I’m still sitting here enjoying fall πŸ™‚ The weather here has it’s ups and it’s downs, the leaves are barely falling and I want to embrace fall. After all, it is my most favorite time of the year! I really don’t decorate for Halloween, so I have plenty of fall decor around the home and I usually don’t put it away until after Thanksgiving πŸ˜‰ Β Thanksgiving is in the fall so why put away those lovely pumpkins?

Today, I want to show you little areas of my home that are decorated for Fall… dsc01310 This is our family room. Don’t mind the t.v area we still need to figure that part out πŸ˜‰ Oh, and my curtains still need to be hemmed! Besides that, I think we have finally settled in this room πŸ™‚Β  dsc01386 When we moved here, there was nothing on the fireplace. There was some holes in the brick from a previous mantel and it looked bad so the hubby made me this mantel. I stained the mantel with Minwax’s Dark Walnut and then I white washed it to give it that barn wood look πŸ˜‰ I think it came out great!

My black lantern is from Marshalls and the LED candles are from Hobby Lobby. Β My chalkboard is a DIY. I bought the frame at a thrift shop and spray painted it white πŸ˜‰ The little silver pumpkin is from Marshalls (it lights up) and the real pumpkins are from our recent trip to the pumpkin patch! oilcan I have an addiction with antique books. I love to include them in my decor and with every season! This time, I just stacked them up against the fireplace and placed a twig pumpkin on top πŸ™‚ This vintage oil can was found in my dad’s garbage pile! Here’s the story… my parent’s had just bought a ranch and my dad was cleaning out the barn. Of course, I went digging in the garbage to see what I can find! Some people just don’t understand the value of antiques πŸ™‚ dsc01471 When I decorate for Fall, I like to incorporate a lot of antiques. What many people find as “junk” I find it beautiful! I found this metal card cabinet at my local antique shop. I thought it would be a great place to store the remotes since the kids are always losing them. The glass jar in the back is from an antique shop as well. If you checked out the Fall Front Porch blog post then you might remember it from there πŸ˜‰ More pumpkins from the pumpkin patch and yes, those are my babies in the picture πŸ™‚ We just took family pictures and I will post those another day πŸ˜‰ Picture frame is from Marshalls. dsc01351 My favorite place to go to when it’s Fall is the pumpkin patch! I just love it there! We make it a tradition to go every year. Since this is the family room, I wanted this space to be more fun so I created a little pumpkin patch myself πŸ™‚ pumpkin-patch-area Isn’t is so cute?! This vintage fruit crate is from an antique shop and I just simply filled it with pumpkins πŸ™‚ The little locker basket is from Target’s dollar spot and the gingham pillow is too! The galvanized plant pot is from IKEA and I just filled it with faux cranberries. Next to this, stands my antique ladder and guess where it’s from? If you’re not shopping at antique shops you’re missing out! Scarf is from Target and throw is from IKEA. dsc01362 White pitcher is from IKEA. My H O M E letters are from Michaels and the frame is a DIY. dsc01323 These faux pumpkins were orange with yellow stems.. I painted them white and hot glued real pumpkin stems to them πŸ™‚ dsc01367 This faux weathered cubby is from Walmart. dsc01368 What’s a family room without board games right?! dsc01379 Our computer desk is in the back there. That’s a whole other blog post πŸ˜‰ dsc01380 Don’t mind my dirty windows..I forgot to clean them πŸ˜‰ dsc01315 When you first walk into the family room.. you see this gallery wall (remember.. I still need to hem those curtains) adjust I even decorated our little DIY bookcase next to our foyer πŸ™‚ adjusted And in our living room sits one of my favorite antique pieces. This table was one of my very first antique shop finds! It means so much to me πŸ™‚ Galvanized bucket is from Michaels. dsc01477 Just throwing in two of my favorite shots πŸ˜‰ dsc01479 I hope you enjoyed this blog post πŸ™‚ Thank you for stopping by!
