Our Family Room

Hello! First and foremost, thank you to all those who took the time to read my Vintage Airplane blog post! Because I get a lot of likes and comments on my family room I decided that I would create an inspiration board ๐Ÿ™‚ I will be moving soon, so before I start sharing my new living and family room, let me show you how I put together my current family room..

Currently, I live in a small house. There is only one place to have your “living room” or “family room” and so that is why I just call it my “family room.” I’m so excited because in our new house we will have a living room and a family room! So much to decorate ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s bittersweet because I am going to miss this space. This particular room played a big part in helping me find my style ๐Ÿ™‚

H&M pillow cover (not available at the moment). H&M carries all sorts of pillow covers and at a decent price. Be sure to check them out!

Two of my pillows are made out of painter’s drop-cloth! I had someone sow them for me ๐Ÿ˜‰ I found a similar one made out of linen on H&M for 9.99

I fill these with IKEA cushions as well ๐Ÿ™‚

When the holidays come, I tend to change out a pillow or two for one that goes with the season. I usually buy those from Marshalls ๐Ÿ˜‰

Throw: IKEA GURLI throw in white, beige for 9.99

Round Mirror: Homegoods

I could not find the exact one that I have online, a similar one is on the inspiration board. My mirror is wooden and it has a distressed look to it ๐Ÿ˜‰ Remember to check out Homegoods for mirrors as they always have a great selection!

Rug: you can find itย hereย

Gallery Wall: Target, Homegoods, Michaels, Marshalls and Hobby Lobby

To achieve this gallery wall, I started by placing my biggest frame in the middle followed by the two white frames on the side. I bought those frames from Target when they were on sale, but I would definitely look into IKEA RIBBA frames as they look exactly the same and at a great price! I worked from biggest to smallest, checking each frame for positioning before I nailed it to the wall. The key is to take your time. It may take awhile before you can say it’s perfect! I would suggest hanging other items such as this deer head or other seasonal table decor. Mixing different textures is a great way to distinct your galley wall! The arrow is a DIY the hubby made out of a piece of pallet. Hubby whipped it up in less than five minutes! Gotta love him ๐Ÿ™‚

Just like the pillows, I also change out a few frames here and there to go with the season ๐Ÿ˜‰
