Farmhouse Shelves
Hey everyone! Today, I want to show off my new farmhouse shelves the hubby made for me! This is one of the projects that we started a couple of weeks ago and now just finished it up. We can do that. Life gets in the way sometimes 😉 My kitchen is full of cabinets and I don’t really have a place to store my kitchen décor. I needed some open shelves to show off my pretty little finds! In my blogging world, I follow many other people who are just like me 🙂 I come across many great ideas and from one of them came about these farmhouse shelves! All of my inspiration came from this blog post here. For this project, we took a trip to Menards and scored on some pieces of scrap wood. The thick pieces of wood that are on the wall are 2×4’s and the supports are 2×2’s. The actual shelf is a 1×10 cut to whatever size you want. I believe mine are 32 inches long. After everything was cut and sanded I stained every piece with my favorite.. Minwax Special Walnut! I applied a very light coat of stain, the wax and this is how they turned out! I wanted to give them that “farmhouse” look so that I can display some of my favorite kitchen décor! The “Pure Milk” glass bottle is from Marshalls as well as the plates, bowl, mugs and casserole. The small milk bottles are from Michaels and all other items are from my local antique store!
I’m loving this space right now. These farmhouse shelves have charm!
Hi Veronica! Just stopping over at your blog. Love the shelves! These are the same that I had made in my Dining room. They look wonderful in your kitchen. Wishing you much success on your blog.
